Pacific Connect calls for attendees for PNG Business Network Dialogue

| March 11, 2019

Pacific Connect is calling for expressions of interest from accomplished, motivated and forward- thinking individuals to join its Business Network Dialogue in Port Moresby on 1-3 April to discuss emerging opportunities for PNG in digital agriculture.

The Pacific Connect Business Network Dialogue, Innovative and disruptive technology in PNG agriculture, will bring together emerging leaders from Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Australia to discuss how improved digital connectivity and disruptive technology can generate new commercial opportunities in agriculture, help create an economy in a rural village, or build sustainability through traditional industries such as coffee, cocoa and cassava.

The Pacific is undergoing an unprecedented technological transformation, making it an ideal time to discuss and plan our region’s digital future.

Through facilitated, outcome-focused roundtable discussions, participants will identify and select one or two practical projects to take forward and develop them through a series of subsequent meetings and long-term collaboration.

Ideas for potential projects include:

  • A standardised collaboration platform for agricultural data management
  • Using Internet of Things (IoT) technology to help farmers to sustainably improve yields and reduce risks
  • Digital technology through the supply chain and developing mobile apps to enable efficiencies in farming

The Dialogue will be co-facilitated byAndrew Carriline, Non-Executive Director, Kina Bank, and Chair of the Pacific ConnectBusiness Network Council, and John Pora, Director, NIUGENE PNG Limited.

Please forward your CV and a brief overview of your relevant achievements to pacific_dialogue@icdp.com.au. Deadline for submissions is Friday 15 March 2019.
