AFLW star Courtney Cramey teams up with Fiona Lawrie to headline local launch of Collective

MAS National are pleased to launch Collective – Inspiring Women in Business in South Australia, on Wednesday 20^th November, 2019.

Established in Tasmania and powered by MAS National, Collective is an inclusive networking group for women in business.

Collective networking events provide women from any industry, at any stage of their career, the opportunity to connect with like-minded women and hear from guest speakers sharing their expertise, insights and career journeys.

AFLW star Courtney Cramey and Tradeswomen Australia Foundation founder Fiona Lawrie join the South Australian launch event to speak about their careers in traditionally male-dominated industries, and the challenges each have faced on the path to success.

Courtney first played football in primary school as the only girl in teams that were otherwise all boys. As a priority selection from Adelaide before the 2016 AFL Women’s draft, Courtney made her debut at the club’s inaugural match in round one 2017. Courtney has not only played a critical on-field role in the Crows’ success, she’s also helped nurture the next generation of players set to drive the women’s game forward.

Fiona Lawrie’s career began as a light vehicle apprentice, and throughout her time working in the automotive industry she identified a lack of support and opportunity for women in trade industries. During her apprenticeship, Fiona started a networking group for women in trades and later founded Tradeswomen Australia Foundation in 2013 with the mission to increase the representation of women working in trades.

MAS National welcomes women interested in hearing from both Courtney and Fiona as they share their stories about their road to success, as well as their desire to support other women in male-dominated industries.

Guest speakers at Launceston Collective events have included Kate Carnell – The Australian Small Business & Family Enterprise Ombudsman; Dr Polly McGee – Author, Entrepreneur, Digital Strategist & Yogi; and Sara Redman – Director at SRA Corporate Change.

With the launch of the South Australian chapter, Collective is set to continue this legacy of providing women across Australia with access to valuable career advice, insights and expertise shared by successful women in business.

All proceeds from ticket sales of the South Australian launch of Collective will be donated to Zahra Foundation Australia, to support vulnerable women and children.
