Have your say: Clean Technology Innovation Program

| March 6, 2012

First 5000 members are invited to have your say on the second consultation paper associated with the Clean Technology Innovation Program.

Submissions close: 14 March 2012.

The Government has allocated $200 million over five years to the Clean Technology Innovation Program.
The program will support the research, development and commercialisation of clean technology products, processes and services. It will fund the development of a range of clean technologies including low emission and other energy efficient technologies.

The program targets:

  • Australian companies, including small business and individuals (committed to form a company if offered funding); and
  • Australian companies collaborating with research institutions or other companies (both domestic and/or international).

Competitive grants will be provided for the development of an innovative product, process or service including research and development, proof of concept and early stage commercialisation. Funding will be based on a co-investment of $50,000 to $5 million on a co-investment of $1 for each $1 of government funding.

Stakeholder feedback from the first consultation paper on the Clean Technology Innovation Program centred on issues relating to applicant eligibility, collaboration, in-kind funding, measurement of carbon savings, the grant period, and the application process.

This Second Consultation Paper responds to the stakeholder feedback and seeks further comment to inform the Program Guidelines which need to be finalised prior to the launch of the program in mid-2012.

Written submissions with feedback on the Second Consultation Paper can be provided up until close of business on 14 March 2012 and should be emailed to cleantechnologypro@innovation.gov.au.

AusIndustry is supported in delivering this program by Innovation Australia an independent statutory body.
