Have your say: Australia’s Export Credit Arrangements

| April 10, 2012

The Productivity Commission is inviting interested parties, including First 5000 members, to register their interest in an inquiry into Australia’s export credit arrangements.

Submissions close: 31 May 2012.

In undertaking the inquiry, the Commission is to consider arrangements for the provision of export credit through the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC). The Commission is reviewing government involvement in the provision of export credit and is assessing current arrangements against the requirements of the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation Act 1991.

It is reviewing EFIC’s exemption from competitive neutrality legislation, its funding, pricing and service arrangements, and assess their impact on private sector provision of financial products and services which support Australian export trade and it is assessing the interactions between EFIC and other government programs and consider alternatives that would achieve EFIC’s objectives.
