Breaking down the barriers to brand collaboration

| April 16, 2015

Collaborations lie at the heart of many a successful business. Jessica Ruhfus founder of Collabosaurus shares her dream of meaningful collaboration.

For mid-sized businesses, brand collaborations are a fantastic, proven way to expand market reach.

In recent years, we’ve seen a handful of successful partnerships garner publicity, engagement, and sales – especially among large organisations – but unfortunately, implementing effective collaborations is a practice we’ve not seen enough of in Australia.

Due to the research, reach-out and negotiation time required to secure a mutually beneficial, brand aligned partnership, businesses are often deterred from implementing them. Furthermore, it’s widely perceived that brand collaborations need significant financial investment and a ‘big creative idea’ to follow-through a successful partnership strategy.

Through experiencing my own frustrations with this issue, I recently launched a web platform, Collabosaurus, which aims to dispel these perceptions. Collabosaurus enables brands to simplify the process of finding strategic collaborations, and foster targeted, mutually beneficial brand partnerships in Australia.

In its most simple form, Collabosaurus is a match-making site for brands to source effective, valuable partnerships with businesses offering complementary target markets and marketing assets, and that are interested in collaborating with others.

For instance, Collabosaurus can be used to help brands source event or competition partners, implement targeted marketing initiatives on a budget, and to create social media campaigns. For mid-sized businesses in particular, Collabosaurus is a great platform to grow your publicity and reach new, large interested audiences, and tap into a proven marketing strategy for brand growth.

To explain how Collabosaurus works, users simply set up a project and fill out details about their project, including target audience, marketing assets and the type of partnership needed. The Collabosaurus algorithm then presents users with potential matches, ranked according to what the site deems most valuable. Users can send and receive connection requests with these brands, and until a match is agreed upon all users remain anonymous. The anonymity feature is one of Collabosaurus’ unique features, protecting brands from unnecessary bombardment and allowing businesses of all shapes and sizes to connect and collaborate.

With Collabosaurus, there’s no need for a big idea, big budget, time consuming research, list building or cold calling.  We’ve specifically built the platform with small to mid-sized businesses and account managers in mind; the interface is intuitive and easy to use, and offers the ability to manage multiple projects within one dashboard.

What’s more, barriers of location are being overcome with Collabosaurus and we’re already planning a launch into the overseas market. If you’re looking to reach a market in the UK, for example, we hope that Collabosaurus will become a logical place to start.

Collabosaurus is designed to change brand collaborations in Australia and to bring incredible partnerships to life. You can sign up today at http://collabosaurus.com.
